The 2023 Triple Crown Series Thor WMX West Series was exciting as some of our fastest female riders competed on some of the most challenging tracks in Canada. The four-round series began in Edmonton, with the WMX rider having to compete on an extremely hard-packed track. During the opening round, we witnessed some intense battles at the front of the pack between Eve Broduer and Avrie Berry. Both riders seemed to excel on the technical Edmonton track, and together they put on quite a show for the fans.

At Round 2 in hot Kamloops, Brodeur faced more challenges from Berry and Annalyse Lopushinsky, who appeared to love the rough Whispering Pines track. However, during the 20-minute moto, Brodeur found her groove and eventually made her way to the front. Behind the lead three were BC rider Kaylie Kayer and Lexi Pechout, who both rode solidly in the tough conditions.

The third 2023 Thor WMX Series round was also held at Whispering Pines Raceway, and the ladies were back to a two-moto format. Although Brodeur dominated both motos, we witnessed a couple of breakout rides as Sienna Brown used her solid 4-3 moto scores to finish second overall. Katrine Ferguson also rode great as she finished a career-best 6th overall, one spot in front of her sister Ani.

The four and final round was raced at Wild Rose MX Park in beautiful Calgary, AB. The WMX riders had their work cut out for them as the wet and cool weather made the track slippery and rutted. Despite the adverse conditions, our talented ladies put on quite a show for the Calgary fans, as there were battles all over the track. Eve Brodeur kept her winning streak going by dominating both motos; Avrie Berry had a great ride in moto one as she recovered from a first-turn crash to charge all the way up to second place. She finished her series in style with another second-place finish in moto two, which gave her the runner-up spot in the WMX West Series. Hometown rider Lexi Pechout had another strong race: she took third overall on the day and fourth overall in the series.

The race in Calgary was a perfect ending to this series as the challenging track showcased all of the WMX rider’s skills and determination. Congratulations to all of the Thor WMX West riders, as they put on quite a show while racing on tracks that were all quite different from each other. To help celebrate this entertaining WMX Series, here are some James Lissimore photos from the final round in Calgary.
