MX1 Moto Two Report From Edmonton

It’s almost like the top MX1 riders need a moto to warm up because for the second week in a row moto two was a barn burner. Jeremy Medaglia grabbed the early lead an at one point held a five second lead over first moto winner Teddy Maier. Again points leader Brett Metcalfe couldn’t get off the gate good in moto two and he was stuck back in tenth on the first lap. But, like last week, Metcalfe put his head down and charged through the pack, he again had one or two little slick lines that helped him make up time on the leaders.

Up front, Jeremy fought hard to keep the lead but at the 27 minute mark the hard charging Australian Metcalfe reeled him in and made the pass. Right after that Maier and Kiniry also passed Jeremy and the battle for the moto win continued. Metcalfe stayed strong on the fast track and held on for the moto win and the overall win in the MX1 class. Maier finished second and was visibly disgusted after the moto. It was another great second moto and all the fans were on their feet for the enitre race.

Top five:

1. Brett Metcalfe

2. Teddy Maier

3. Bobby Kiniry

4. Jeremy Medaglia

5. Tyler Medaglia
