MX1 Moto 1 Report from Edmonton

With the MX1 class being up first today, they got treated to a pretty smooth and fast track for their opening moto. Teddy Maier not only had the fastest lap time in practice but he grabbed the holeshot in moto one. His teammate and MX1 points leader Brett Metcalfe was hot on his heels in second. For the first few laps Teddy, Metty and Kiniry followed each around the super fast Edmonton track.

The first rider to crack was Bobby K as he slipped out in a tight corner and lost a few positions. Up front, Teddy rode flawless and slowly pulled away from Metty, lap after lap Teddy stretched his lead. By the time the moto was over Teddy was more than ten seconds in front and would hold that to the finish. Metty rode safe to finish in second, Bobby K charged hard and after a spirited dual with Tyler Medaglia he fought back to third. It was a good race and Maier was very happy as he crossed the finish line.
