Monster Energy Pro National – Round 5
at Gopher Dunes on Saturday, July 14

CMRC PRO National Weekend Update…..posted July 5, 2012…..

With an early start to the 2012 riding season, it has presented us with one of the hottest and driest springs on record, and now our summer is proving to be much the same.

Gopher Dunes hosted their 2nd. annual ATV & UTV Festival on June 24th. and this Sunday we are hosting a TVR Club Race at the West Track location.  The main track and trails will remain open for leisure and practice riding for today & Friday until 8:30pm and then on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 6pm.  The track will be irrigated this afternoon and again on Saturday and Sunday.  Sections of the main track will be left rough for the weekend, to give Pro racers some good and intense practice laps and allowing them to dial in their bikes for proper engine and suspension set-up.

With the summer holidays upon us, we are getting many inquiries and booking many sessions for our HONDA Gopher Dunes Training Schools.  This training is for private riding lessons, semi-private, small group or family sessions.  We will train you on your own dirt bike or quad, or we have available various sizes of 2012 Honda bike and quad rentals which include the full riding gear.  These lessons can be arranged on a weekday from Tuesday through Friday and for any preferred number of hours.  Weekend availability is limited.  Contact us at info@gopherdunes.com or call Barb at 519-842-2781.  We DO NOT rent out our units for personal leisure riding.  They are solely assigned for training purposes and guided trail riding tours or supervised track riding.

We are closed on Monday, July 9 and ONLY THE TRAILS will be open to leisure riders on July 10 & 11.  Then the entire facility will shut down next Thursday and Friday, in preparation for Round 5 of the MONSTER ENERGY CMRC PRO NATIONAL MOTOCROSS RACES taking place at Gopher Dunes on Saturday, July 14.  And to round off the weekend, the CMRC Amateur Race Day will be held here on Sunday, July 15.  The Monday will be tear-down, clean-up day and the track and trails will then re-open on Tuesday, July 17 for more leisure riding.  For further details visit:  www.gopherdunes.com

Now more details on the ‘Premier Event of the Year’….Round 5 of the Monster Energy CMRC Pro National Motocross Races at Gopher Dunes on Saturday, July 14.

With 4 rounds of the western leg of the 2012 National MX Tour now in the rear-view mirror, the racers have had a few weeks hiatus to wrap-up and rest-up before they arrive to the gnarly sands of Gopher Dunes.  For this round we will be presenting racers with some new changes and  great challenges!  This event will unfold on Canada’s Toughest National on July 14 and here the excitement will continue to mount in hunt for the MX1 & MX2 title contenders?!  Our Gopher Dunes sponsored rider, the 2011 MX2 champ – #11 – Tyler Medaglia – who will now be continuing with the tough competition racing the MX1 class in 2012.  Currently Medags is holding 4th. overall on his Honda CRF450R and we’re extremely excited to see some fabulous results from Tyler in reflection of his love for the Gopher Dunes sand!
