Huber Motorsports Thor/Kawasaki/Pro Circuit Round 1 – Kamloops

Considering Dylan Rempel was forced to ride the JR class to start off 22, his 8th OA was more than impressive this past weekend.

Huber Motorsports Thor/Kawasaki/Pro Circuit race team headed west from our home in Breslau Ontario last week to Kamloops British Columbia for the Future West promoted W-Can amateur national and round one of the 2022 Tiple Crown series.

Racing started on Wednesday with Caleb Vankoughnett competing in the 65 10–13-year-old class and Dylan Rempel in the 250 Intermediate and 250 open classes.  During the week our mechanics Tanner Brooks and Jadon Brown were on hand to support the amateur racing program and help our fellow Team Green riders keeping them racing and safe.

Caleb Vankoughnett #356- KX 65/85

Caleb Vankoughnett made his first trip to the W-Can and learned the new track along with travel and time change from his home in Ontario Canada. He started off the week with some great starts and battled full gates of riders all week long.  He continued to grow and gain experience during the week while showing the quality the 2022 KX65 offers.

Caleb went 14-10-11 for 10th overall in the 65-open class along with 17-11-10 for 11th overall in the 65, 10-13 age class. This was a great experience for Caleb learning valuable lessons for the future from racing on new tracks, managing the traveling, and having a fan base of other young riders who look up to him as he represents Canadian Kawasaki and the future of Canadian motocross.  Caleb flew back to Ontario where he will work this week with his trainer and continue to prepare for next weekends race in Drumheller, Alberta.

Dylan Rempel #138- KX250

Mechanic: Jadon Brown

Dylan Rempel started the week of racing the 250 intermediate and open intermediate classes before he would line up on Sunday for his first professional race.  Dylan on been on a KX250 since January 2022 and after last seasons domination on the KX85 and KX112 expectations were high.

Dylan was able achieve great starts all week and again surprise his competition with a 6 moto sweep of his classes.  The W-Can was a great warm up for Dylan as many of his competition was racing and gave him the ability to learn new tracks and deal with travel and gain experience.   The next few weeks Dylan will race on Sunday’s professional races preparing for the E-Can in a few weeks.

Sunday was a huge day for Dylan competing in his first professional race at 14 years of age and we have worked hard with him keep his focus on the future and making sure to complete his races and stay healthy.  In years past, other riders have struggled having one good race, one bad race, or crashes. Dylan was able to keep his focus and prove his future can be amazing with great starts and consistent laps, he went 7-7 for 8th overall.   The team had set a goal with Dylan that if he swept his intermediate classes and both pro races without a crash, he would earn a Pro Circuit exhaust for his KLX110.  We are grateful for his success and to Pro Circuit for the exhaust.

Tanner Ward  #84- KX 450

Mechanic: Tanner Brook

Tanner was able practice and test motor suspension and gearing during the W-Can which was valuable in making sure his KX450 was ready for the season as he is coming to our team and competing in his rookie season in the 450 class.  Tanner has become the team leader with his unique ability to guide the younger riders and share his years of valuable experience. We have been looking for this perfect match and this week he was able help guide Caleb and Dylan and offer guidance to our fellow Team Green riders.

Sunday Tanner qualified in the top 5 and was able have a good gate pick for moto one.  Tanner worked through some issues during the moto and was able finish 6th and the top three was right ahead of him.   After a few more bike changes, we were excited for the second moto and Tanner got a better start.  He was battling for second when we had a technical issue with the bike, and we were forced to end the race in 28th.  Tanner went 6-28 for 13th overall and is ready show that he is a podium contender next week in Drumheller, Alberta.

Canadian Kawasaki Motors and the local dealer network across Canada will continue supporting multiple Team Green riders.  Thor/Kawasaki/Pro Circuit race program will be available for track side support and guidance at each race weekend and will host a Team Green dinner at the Walton Trans Can for all those who can attend.
