Future West Moto second annual BC Motocross Championship’s

Future West Moto are proud to announce the dates for the second annual NO LICENSE – NO SERIES FEE, BC Motocross Championship’s. Last year’s inaugural season produced some amazing racing and visited the some of the best tracks in the province. This season Future West have pulled out all the stops to provide an even better series visiting the very best tracks in Southern British Columbia.

First on the schedule will be the return to Victoria’s Westshore MX Park on March 23rd. Last year saw many Lower Mainland riders pack up, share a ride and visit the Island for the first time in many years. Westshore MX staged a fantastic event and have opened up more parking for this year’s event in anticipation of the return of BC Motocross. After Victoria the series will pick up on April 13th at the popular Kelowna Dirt Bike Club – Bear Creek Motocross Track. In 2013, Kelowna Dirt Bike Club saw large entries and riders were greeted with amazing track prep and event management. Next on the schedule will be a return to the Lower Mainland Motocross Club’s Mission Raceway for Easter weekend on Sunday April 20th. With the event being held on a four day holiday weekend for Easter this will be a weekend not to miss. Following the Easter Weekend the Lower Mainland Club will host round 4 on May 4th at Mission before heading back to Kelowna for round 5 on the Victoria Day Long weekend on May 18th. National track, Whispering Pines in Kamloops and the Greater Kamloops Motorcycle Association will host round 6 of the series two weeks before the Rockstar Energy Motocross Nationals visit the facility. This event is sure to be full of riders looking to get acquainted with the track prior to the big race and always provides great track conditions and atmosphere. Round 7 of the series will visit Green River MX Park in Pemberton on June 14th. The Pemberton track is hugely popular among the BC Motocross community and Future West can’t wait to work with the Green River MX Club to make it a great weekend. Last, but certainly not least is the finale of the BC Motocross Championship at Popkum Motor Park. Future West are extremely excited to welcome Popkum to the series and have Popkum host the finale of the series at one of BC’s premiere motorsport complex’s. This will be the first ever race at the Popkum facility and you can be rest assured Popkum will pull out all the stops to make this event unforgettable.

The 2013 inaugural BC Motocross championship was a huge success and grew as the season went on with more new and old faces coming out of the woodwork to attend the events. Full gates in many of the classes were a welcome sign that the sport of motocross in the province of BC had turned the corner. The race day schedule had riders on their way home by 5pm on Sunday evening leaving plenty of time to get home and prepare for the work and school week ahead while still providing long moto’s for the classes available in the BC Motocross Championships. The backbone of the series was and is the no license or series fee which keeps the costs down for riders chasing the sport. The addition of Saturday night activities including live Monster Energy Supercross under the tent was a huge hit and the addition of Xbox gaming added to the weekend’s away at the track. This year Future West plans to add more activities on Saturday nights to make the weekend at the track that much more enjoyable.

Once again Saturday’s of each weekend will be practice days in preparation for the Sunday racing. The cost again will be $30 for Saturday practice. Signup for racing will be $30 for your first class $30 for your second class and $20 for a third class. Admission will be $10 and camping will be at the discretion of each individual track.

As was the case in 2013 Future West understands the needs of the families participating in the sport and that riders may not be able to attend each event. Future West will once again make one throw away round mandatory. Throw away round will be the lowest score from each rider for one event that will be deducted from the final points standings. If you do not attend one round, that event will be deducted from your points. If you attend all events your lowest score from one event will be deducted.

More information will follow as we near the first event in Victoria. Be sure to visit www.bcmotocross.ca, BC Motocross on Facebook and tune in to the BC Moto Show with Brent Worrall on Blogtalkradio.com Wednesday nights at 7pm for the latest updates.
