For Immediate Release July 18, 2017(Kamloops, British Columbia) Coming off their win last weekend with Mike Alessi, the Monster Energy Alpinestars Kawasaki team was excited to keep the momentum going as the series headed to an all new stop for 2017 – the Motocross Notre Dame du Bon Conseil, in Notre Dame du Bon Conseil, Quebec.
Last week’s MX1 winner, Mike Alessi, started his day off with the fourth quickest time in qualifying. In moto one, he rode a solid race to grab fifth place at the finish. In moto two, he grabbed a top three start but got a face full of dirt from the rider in front of him, which caused him to shoot off the track. Remounting in last place, he put in an impressive charge to come all the way back to seventh by the end of the moto, good enough to give him fourth overall on the day. He sits fourth in the MX1 Championship title chase with four rounds remaining.
In MX2, Jacob Hayes, was battling for the lead in moto one when he was hit from behind by another rider. The impact bent his shifter, forcing him to pull into the mechanics area for repairs. He rejoined the race in last and worked hard to come back to sixteenth. In moto two, he rode to a fifth place finish, giving him ninth overall on the day.
The series now heads to the east coast for next week’s race at the Pleasant Valley MX track in Brookfield, Nova Scotia. For more information on the Canadian National Motocross series, visit www.mxnationals.ca
