AURORA, Ill. (April 10, 2015) -The sixth installment of the acclaimed eight-episode documentary, series Monster Energy Supercross Behind the Dream, will premiere this tomorrow, April 11, at 7:30 p.m. ET/ 4:30 p.m. PT.
The Monster Energy Supercross Behind the Dream unmatched behind-the-scenes access with the superstars of the sport has helped it not only achieve tremendous notoriety, but also stand alone in terms of profiling the world-class athletes on and off the racetrack. Throughout the 2015 season viewers have been treated to one-of-a-kind features on the likes of Ryan Dungey, Ken Roczen, Trey Canard and more.
The sixth episode of Behind the Dream will profile Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Jason Anderson, one of the most promising rookie contenders in the 450SX Class this season. After a breakout 2014 season in which he earned the first championship of his career in the Western Regional 250SX Class, Anderson’s rookie campaign in the premier class began with an impressive runner-up finish at the season opener in Anaheim. Since then Anderson has endured through the ups and downs that come with being a rookie in this highly competitive and grueling championship, even establishing a bit of a rivalry with fellow rookie Blake Baggett. Through it all, Anderson has maintained a positive attitude and a dedication to improving in hopes of giving Husqvarna its first win in its anticipated return to the championship in 2015.
Additionally, Behind the Dream will profile arguably the most challenging competitor of all at each stop in Monster Energy Supercross, the track. The 1.5 million pounds of dirt truly takes on a life of its own over the course of a night of racing, constantly changing, constantly evolving and continually challenging riders each and every lap. The track is a true battleground of man and machine and considering no two Monster Energy Supercross tracks are ever alike, it plays a prominent role in the outcome of the races each and every weekend.
“It’s a lot like ancient Rome and gladiators. Everyone is fighting to be last man standing,” said Dave Prater, Director of Supercross. “A track is a living, breathing entity with its own personality and characteristics. When building and designing it, we have to consider the type of soil, amount of moisture, exposure to sun and a lot of other variables. What works for one track won’t necessarily work for another, and that makes it challenging for the riders as it develops and evolves throughout the night.”
