Well, it’s been a few weeks since the last time I “blogged“; it’s been busy to say the least. Camille and I have been working on the Women’s Series to make it just as good as last year if not better; things are starting to come together. It’s great to see some new sponsors come on board and even better to see manufacturers step up to help out the Women’s side of the sport. I promise you all will not be disappointed. We have a great group of people so far and are still waiting on a few more in which to finalize details. That goes for both the East and West Series. Sylvain has been the voice on the East side to step up and help with the East Series and by the sounds of it things are going to be just as great over there! It’s also great to see all the emails I have received this past winter from girls who want to help with the series in any way they can. It just goes to show that there is some true heart out there. I can’t see women’s racing going away any time soon.
Sierra Roth has done a great job with the http://www.cdnwmx.com website and has been a big voice in all of our decisions. Another girl who has a lot of time on her hands from her leg injury is Krisi Moore. She is another one who has stepped up to help the series. She has gone out of her way to go to every dealer in Calgary to get people on board and I can’t say that any guy would do something like that. Her boyfriend, Mitch, has created a cool looking logo for the Canadian Women riders which I will put up in the next couple weeks, but it’s great to have a Women’s logo to really pull us all together and show support for the Series.
Hard to believe that spring is just around the corner and moto season will be fast upon us. I hope everyone is 100% prepared for the race season. I for one am really excited to see all the new faces at the races and see some intense racing. I think everyone will be surprised at how much speed the girls have this year; we will see battles throughout the entire field. I also have to mention we will have some old faces back racing the West Series this year. Camille is healed up from the torn ACL injury and will be back out there along with my older sister, Amber, who said she might be hitting up a few Nationals. By the sounds of it, Karly Pozdnekoff will be back out west and we should see her at the Nationals as well. It will be like a reunion for all of us!!!
On other news, I spent this past weekend in Lethbridge, AB to get some wedding stuff done with my Mom and younger sister Dallyn. P.S. who made up the the crazy long list of things to do for a wedding. Who would have thought it would take months and months of planning for this one day. On a good note, I got to escape the coldest day ever in Yorkton. With the wind-chill it got down to -55. I felt like I should have been in shorts in the -20 weather in Lethbridge; it felt great to get away for the weekend. If you didn’t know, Dallyn is a personal trainer in Lethbridge so of course we had to get a good gym workout at least one day I was there, so my mom, sister and I went to Crossfit Lethbridge Saturday morning. Let me just say that I haven’t had a good workout like that in a long time! I have been so paranoid this past year with my Achilles that I really haven’t been able to push myself as much as I probably should be, but after that workout I feel like it gave me a good confidence boost to start getting my leg back to as much as normal as possible. Bring on the crazy workouts again!!!
Seems like the days are flying by and there needs to be more time in a day to get everything done, I feel like everything is pretty rushed right now but in the end it ALWAYS works out the way it should be so I have high hopes of everything being just the way I want it.
Train hard everyone, the countdown is on to Moto season!!!!!! 🙂
