CMX Racing is Boycotting the 2014 Race Season

The 2014 motocross season is just around the corner with big changes coming in southwestern Ontario.

For several years CMX has implemented and advocated change in the Canadian motocross community, offering what we know is the best customer service, unquenchable desire, and most importantly and foremost truth and honesty. We have prided ourselves on meeting ALL agreements both financially and personally. Most of all we have grown our membership like the valued family everyone has become. It has been humbling to share this growth with all our members and staff.

2013 marked a great year for CMX. We pushed the introduction of AMB transponders. A huge professional step forward in Canadian amature motocross. Scoring, technology and professionalism that appeared unattainable only a few short seasons ago.  More importantly, for the first time ever clubs, specifically MMRS, CMX and CMRC worked somewhat in conjunction on similar weekends, off setting schedules and worked to make racing better for racers, tracks, families and fans.

We know this clearly is the direction for amature motocross to go as we have tested this format several times at MotoPark with great success for all. Never before had this relationship been allowed to exist and CMX valued the opportunity to grow the sport for everyone.

Unfortunately it has been a short lived victory for our sport. Like many companies that feel threatened, short term vision and insecurity has lead to CMX and its passionate dedicated family of racers being prohibited from competing and supporting key facilities. This strong armed move will also take revenue from key facilities trying to grow and improve their facilities. This short sighted tactic restricts the association trying to produce a better product for the Canadian market. Instead of focusing on bettering the product and growing our sport, time has been spent restricting selected tracks and bribing others.

CMX has no intention on lowering our level of professionalism and integrity to the level of others. We have NO intention of taking the hard earned income of our membership while being restricted, thus unable to offer a product that is better to that which CMX offered our customers in previous years. We passionately believe our members deserve the best.

For these reasons CMX racing is boycotting the 2014 race season.  All 2014 membership applications are currently being refunded via Canada Post.
Any and all industry leaders/insiders  that have played a hand in implementing the new vision that Canadian motocross will eventually take, should not mistake in anyway that this announcement is our final action.

Our sincerest apologies to all our customers, sponsors, track owners, staff and friends. With CMX sitting out the season it truly gives an opportunity to follow through on all the long overdue promises others have made

See you at the races
