Behind The Lens- A few Lissimore Shots From Kamloops

Round one of 2015 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals yesterday in Kamloops was definitely was tough test for every rider on the track. With a very rough track and the temperatures exceeding 30c, it was an opening round where only the strong survived. As always, James Lissimore was there to capture all of the action at Whispering Pines Raceway.

Although Kaven Benoit seemed to struggle a little with traction yesterday, he still rode smart and took home third overall.

Even though we haven’t seen Jeremy Medaglia at a race track since last August, in Kamloops he showed very little rust and rode to a very strong second overall.

Very few people outside of Jimmy Decotis and his team predicted that he’d be so strong at the opening round. In both MX2 motos Jimmy D got to the front early and pulled away.

Congratulations to Jimmy Decotis and the entire Canada’s Motorcycle FXR Racing MX101 Yamaha Team. What a great way to kick off the new season.

Tyler Medaglia and his brand new Husqvarna grabbed the first MX1 holeshot of the 2015 season. Tyler was very strong yesterday in Kamloops and was one of the few riders still charging at the end of each moto. For his effort, Tyler ended up a third overall.

With Colton coming into the 2015 season recovering from an injury, it was understandable to see him slightly off the pace at round one. However, Colton is one of the smartest riders Canada has ever seen and he knows how to get the job done. Once he’s 100%, expect to see some great battles between he and Metcalfe.

Matt Goerke was another rider who came into Kamloops not quite 100%. On the podium he admitted that he gave it everything he had yesterday and came away with a very solid second overall.

This was the moment that fans had waited for as at the beginning of moto two Brett Metcalfe and Colton Facciotti were only bike lengths apart. However, it didn’t last long as a few laps later Metcalfe began to pull away as he took home his second moto win of the day.

Yesterday in Kamloops, Metcalfe made a statement by winning both MX1 motos very convincingly.
