Well, after months of anticipation the bikes finally hit the track at BC Place in Vancouver for media day on Friday. Heading into practice on Friday, there was a lot of talk surrounding how the Vision Built track would hold up with the softer Vancouver dirt. However, most of the riders said that the track is good, and should be even better on Saturday. Eli Tomac was the fastest rider on Friday in the WSX class, while Max Anstie topped the SX2 class. Before practice it was time for the customary riders meeting. It’s amazing that this Global series was able to talk Eli Tomac into racing. Defending WSX class Champion Ken Roczen is also headlining the WSX Series. Cole Thompson, who had a great WSX series last year is in Vancouver. Young Noah Viney is racing his first pro SX this weekend for the MCR Honda Team. Star Racing Yamaha rider Max Anstie looked good today with his #1. Old rivals Dean Wilson and Vince Friese practice a start together. Eli Tomac looks to be riding as good as he ever has right now. Cade Clason was a late addition to the WSX class, and also has Steve Simms as a mechanic this weekend. Ken Roczen will be looking to find the winning form he showed in this series a year ago.
