Some of the perks with being involved in the accessories department in the recreational business is being able to see all the new product lines months in advance before everyone else. Earlier this week my co-worker Jo-Ann and I made our way to Winnipeg for the FXR 2015 Winter Apparel Launch and Booking Show. We attended the show last year so we kind of knew what to expect.
We arrived at the hotel Monday afternoon and one of the first people we ran into was Brock Hoyer. I just assumed he was one of the “Professional Athletes” at the show for FXR, but it turns out he’s not only an FXR athlete, he will be one of the reps out in BC in his area in the near future. So if you’re interested in getting into the FXR line where Brock lives, he would be the guy to talk to. Following the footsteps of Marco Dubé, who was also an FXR athlete for many years, he has taken the career path with a company he knows to be a reliable brand. It really seems that anyone who works for FXR is someone who has been in the motocross community or influenced by some sort of adrenaline sport at one point in their life.
The first night started off with a fashion show of the crazy new line up of winter apparel, which will be sure to catch everyone’s eye once they see the bright colour ways Milt has lined up for this season. Then the door opens outside and in comes Levi Levallee on his sled. He made a grand entrance, and when he got off his sled I’m pretty sure everyone in that room got a good look at how short he is in person. The guy must only be 5’3″ (he is standing on his tip toes in that picture) but he can do some damage on a sled! It’s great to see such an ambassador of snocross and what he has accomplished in the freestyle side of things join up with a great brand. He is well spoken and would sit down to have a casual chat with anyone in that room.
The following day was a good run through of the entire line up FXR has to offer for the 2015 snow season. If you’re a motocross rider or even just the average person looking to make your winters go by a bit faster, buy yourself a sled and get yourself a new FXR suit. You will stay warm, safe, and look great doing it! To cap off the night, we had a gourmet dinner followed by a fun, social evening with a live band and lots of people to talk to. It reminded me of what our motocross banquets are like with everyone when everyone gets together after a season of riding. Only this added all the dealers from the recreational business in Canada, the States, and all the way from Europe jam packed into one room; if you could only imagine.
Milt has created a brand that has taken the recreational apparel side of the business by storm and is only getting bigger and better each year. His risk taking style of gear has put him at the top of everyone’s wish list of gear they need to have! Can’t wait to see what Milt and the FXR team will come up with next.
