This past week has been tough to say the least as we have lost another member of our Moto Family, Carline Bachman. When Lucas passed away two years ago she became the backbone for many of us, the rock of the family that held everything together. With her openness towards everyone and “put your big girl panties on” attitude, she was a well known woman at any event this family went to. Much like Lucas, within five minutes of having a conversation with her anyone would be hooked on her presence. Her outgoing personality and absolute love she had for anything she talked about was infectious.
I became very close to Carline these past couple years; watching her involvement with Lucas’ racing continued on when Charity and Miranda started racing. Carline’s passion for the sport was never left unnoticed. She was a part of the Saskatchewan Motorsport Association and a big part of her local Lloydminster track, which is now known as the Lucas Bachman Memorial Raceway. She kept herself very busy by getting involved in any type of motocross-related event there was. Carline and Gary were a big part of the Women’s Motocross Series this past year, they continued to pour out their generous hearts to anyone in the sport who was deserving, and donated money to Sierra Roth, Jared Stock and many events that were close to their heart.
She was a loving Mother to Joshua, Miranda, Charity, Lucas and the wife of Gary Bachman, the love of her life. Carline Bachman is a one of a kind woman who will never be forgotten. Her personality can be seen through her family, and memories will be cherished forever. Carline had a way of getting into everyone’s heart whether that was from her contagious smile, her big bear hugs, heart to heart talks, making delicious meals at the track or sharing an ice cold beverage. She was a second mother to many of us, opening herself and her family to many others, letting us all become a part of her world. Her family is much a part of all of ours. As we continue on with our journey in life we can be nothing but strong for them when they need it most.
I AM FREE
Don’t Grieve for me, for now I Am Free
I am following the path God laid for me,
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy;
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
All these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savoured much;
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief,
Lift up your heart and share with me.
God wanted me now, he set me free.
If you ever see this family around the race track, be sure to stop by and say hello. A warm smile can go a long way; their courage and strength has us in awe. Our moto family will always stick together and be there for one another in good times and in bad.
We love you and miss you Carline.
“Every adversity, Every failure and Every heartache carries with it the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit.” – Napolean Hill
Life has a way of kicking us when we’re down. Just when we think we can’t fall any lower, we get kicked again. However, it’s important to remember that setbacks, failures, and tragedy are a part of life. Whether we manage to find joy and success in the daily struggle of life, we are largely dependent on our ability to persevere through even the toughest adversity without ever giving up.”
