Kamloops, BC(April 24, 2012) After a two month hiatus as the series headed east, the Supercross Lites West class of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series resumed this weekend as the series made its annual stop in the Pacific Northwest, at Seattle, Washington’s CenturyLink Field and Monster Energy Leading Edge Kawasaki’s Kyle Beaton was excited to get back to action after achieving a career best finish at the previous round in San Diego.
For the Canadian, not only did the Seattle round mark a hometown race, with his Surrey, BC home lying a short 2 hour drive to the north, it also marked the last Supercross race of the 2012 season for Beaton as he shifts his focus to preparations for the upcoming Canadian Motocross Nationals so he wanted to finish things off on a high note and he did just that. Logging the 17th quickest time in qualifying, Beaton would get a great start in his Heat race, battle with the front runners and finish 7th to qualify directly to the main event.
With another solid start in the main event, Beaton would ride well to finish 12th – one position off his career best of 11th obtained at the previous round. Beaton was happy with how his night went: “I’m really happy with how things went. I didn’t get a chance to practice SX during the break as I was focused on my outdoor preparations so to come in and do this well really makes me feel happy with my progress this year. I had so many friends and family come see me, it felt good to be so close to home. Hopefully I can build on this for next year but for now my focus is heading home and getting ready to battle for the Canadian MX2 Championship.”

As Beaton mentioned he will now be shifting his focus to the upcoming Monster Energy CMRC Canadian Motocross Nationals, starting June 3rd in Nanaimo, BC. For more info on the Canadian Motocross National series, visit www.cmrcracing.com
