Canadians lead international cast
MONSTER ENERGY MOTOCROSS NATIONALS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Stouffville, ON – August 4, 2010)

Canadians lead international cast

As the Monster Energy Motocross Nationals start to wind down at Sand Del Lee in Richmond, Ontario this Sunday with Round 8 of 9, Canadians are leading an international cast in the MX1, MX2 and Women’s Championship.

This is the first time in more than a decade that a Canadian is at the top of the points chase in both pro classes at the end of the season.

With Dusty Klatt well in command of the MX1 division, Tyler Medaglia dominating MX2, and defending champ Heidi Cooke leading the Women’s Nationals presented by Honda, it’s looking like we may have a clean sweep of the series on our hands.

The competition has been fierce this year across the board, thanks to an international cast of riders – predominantly American – looking for fame and glory in the Great White North’s MX wars.

Every year the Monster Energy Motocross Nationals seem to attract more and more foreign riders, of which the 2010 MX1 title hunt is a good indicator. In the current top-10 rankings, five are from the U.S.; one is from Hungary and another from New Zealand.

In the MX2 title chase, which has been mostly the domain of the Americans since the 125 East and 125 West days, one South African and three Yanks occupy the top-10, including defending champion Teddy Maier from Iowa.

Although Rockstar Energy/OTSFF Racing/Two Wheel Suzuki’s Cooke has only a handful of points on Florida’s KTM-mounted Jacqueline Ross, the Yamaha/Red Bull/Blackfoot/Fox Racing duo of Klatt and Medaglia are in much better shape as they square off against their own American adversaries.

Klatt, who took up the Canadian torch in the MX1 title hunt from an injured Colton Facciotti, leads New York’s Bobby Kiniry by 32 points. Although Rockstar Energy/OTSFF Racing/Two Wheel Suzuki’s Kiniry has been a worthy opponent with a number of podium finishes, he has yet to win a moto or an overall. In fact, the only ones to win motos and the overalls are Klatt and Facciotti.

Medaglia, who will be racing on his home track this weekend at Sand Del Lee, has a 14 points lead on Monster Energy/Leading Edge Kawasaki’s Teddy Maier.

DNFs by the main contenders have played a serious role in the title hunt this season. No one has been spared! Facciotti, Klatt, Kiniry, Monster Energy Cernic’s/Kawasaki’s Josh Demuth, Royal Distributing KTM’s Kornel Nemeth and Machine Racing Honda’s Kyle Keast, all have had to bite the bullet in MX1. In MX2, the hand of fate has dealt blows to Medaglia, Maier, his Kawasaki teammate Shawn Rife, and Royal Distributing KTM’s Eric Nye.

While Facciotti vacated the lead in MX1 after two serious crashes – one at Round 3 and one at Round 6 – Medaglia has been top dog in the MX2 series since the get-go. All the Kemptville, ON native has to do in the remaining two rounds is keep Maier at bay and he’ll be the first Canadian to lay claim to the MX2 National title since Blair Morgan won the 125 National Championship in 1999.

It will also be the first MX2 Championship for Blackfoot Racing. Although the powerhouse Calgary-based team has all but dominated MX1 since 2001, the MX2 Championship has eluded them. The team won 125 (MX2) East and 125 (MX2) West titles, but never both in the same year.

3 Top 10’s and a Podium for Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM Canada in
Moncton!

CMRC Canadian Motocross Nationals, Round 7 – Moncton, NB, July 31 - Aug 1, 2010
Moncton New Brunswick played host to the 7th round of the National CMRC Motocross series this past weekend. The
picturesque Riverglade track was prepped and cheering Atlantic Canadian Motocross fans lined the entire length of
the fence. It was clearly the largest fan turnout to date the Moncton round is a true favorite on the circuit. Excited to
get the day started the Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM team was prepared and looking forward to great
racing.

After excellent qualifying heats all Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM team riders sat comfortably in the top
in their respective classes. Kornel Nemeth qualified in 2nd place just a little off the quickest lap time. Eric Nye was
looking to get a long overdue podium finish and teammates Kyle McGlynn, Kate McKerroll and Ryan Millar all felt
comfortable on the track. Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM Canada loaned the #546 rider Kevin Urquhart
a KTM 450 SX-F to compete on for the weekend after his own bike had mechanical issues during the week.
Unfamiliarity with the bike didn’t stop the friendly American from posting top qualifying times and was ready to give it
his all in the race.

First up was the MX 2 class and after the gate dropped on the first moto of the day it was Kaven Benoit leading the
way on his 2010 KTM 250 SX-F. Chasing Benoit was a stream of riders including Royal Distributing Thor Dragon
Fuels KTM’s Eric Nye in 3rd place. After a few laps into the race Benoit was feeling the pressure from the number 12
of Nye when disaster struck. On a high speed uphill section Nye lost the front end of his bike and crashed.
Unfortunately for Eric and the team he will be missing the rest of the season with a hand injury suffered in the crash.
Kyle McGlynn put on an impressive charge from the back of the pack to 9th in moto one and then again to 7th in the
second moto.

Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM Canada’s Kornel Nemeth was looking to continue his podium streak in
Moncton on his Dunlop backed 2010 KTM 450 SX-F. Moto 1 saw Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM’s
Kevin Urquhart and Nemeth both nail down top 5 starts on their KTM 450’s and the #32 of Nemeth powered his way

around the top guys into 3rd place by moto’s end. The 2nd MX 1 moto start again had the two KTM 450 SX-F’s of
Nemeth and Urquhart coming through the GP section in the top 5. Ignoring the dusty conditions both Royal
Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM riders held the throttle wide open and as the moto would down Hungarian
Kornel Nemeth crossed the finish line behind the leader which gave him a hard earned 2nd overall. Not giving up after
an on track incident Washington State native Kevin Urquhart showed a lot of determination putting his all new Royal
Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM 450 SX-F in 9th place. Manitoba’s Ryan Millar placed the #28 race bike in 13th
overall for the day.

The Ladies Pro Series is as competitive as it gets and with a hometown favorite in the class the fans were lined up
ready to watch. Blasting off the gate Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM’s Kate McKerroll rounded the first
corner in 4th and she had a battle with a fellow competitor eventually finishing in 4th. The second moto was just as
intense and Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM’s McKerroll put her #9 KTM 150 SX into 4th by moto’s end
just missing the podium. Kate currently sits in 5th place with one round to go and is anxious to get her turn on the
podium.

A very special thanks to all of the Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM team sponsors. Without their support
we wouldn't be able to go racing.

KTM Canada’s dealer supported riders had a fantastic weekend placing 3rd and 4th overall in the MX 2 class. Orange
Motorsports KTM’s Jeremy Medaglia is still in 3rd place overall in the series with his 3rd place finish in Moncton.
Duroy racing, Motosport 4 Saisons KTM rider Kaven Benoit nailed both MX2 holeshots in Moncton on his KTM 250
SX-F eventually scoring a 4th overall for the day.

Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki's Josh Demuth and Troy Adams Ride to Top Five Finishes in Moncton
Huntington, TX (August 3, 2010) - Riverglade MX Park in Moncton, NB hosted round seven of the CMRC Monster Energy Motocross Nationals where both Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki riders finished in the top five.  Troy Adams finished in fourth and Josh Demuth took home fifth overall on the day.

Troy Adams rode to a fourth place finish in the first MX1 Pro moto after rounding the first turn in eighth place.  He eventually worked his way up to fourth for a pretty uneventful race.  His second moto was filled with much more excitement. After another top ten start he worked his way into fourth position again.  This time he had time to catch the third place rider, Bobby Kiniry.  The two American motocross riders had an intense battle for the last half of the race.  In fact, the two exchanged spots multiple times on the last lap of the race. Adams came out on top to take the last spot on the podium.

"I felt pretty good today and had a great battle with Bobby," said Adams after the race.  "I had a lot of fun and I want to keep this momentum going into the last two rounds.  Unfortunately, my first four rounds weren't up to par but things seem to be working good for me now."

Josh Demuth came into Moncton hoping to improve on his fourth place overall standing in the series. Despite getting the holeshot in both motos he struggled to find his pace and scored a sixth in moto one and fifth in moto two.

"I finally got those starts that I've been struggling with," explained Demuth.  "Getting the holeshot is great but today was a tough for me. For some reason, I couldn't get the bike setup correctly and had problems getting in a groove.  I'm disappointed with how I rode but I'll come back even stronger next week to try to move up in the championship points."

Josh Demuth continues to hold onto fourth in championship points with only three points separating him from third.  Troy Adams' fourth overall helped him move into ninth position in the championship.

The Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki Racing Team will travel to San Del Lee in Ashton, ON on August 8, 2010 for round eight of the CMRC Monster Energy Motocross Nationals.

DUSTY KLATT CONTINUES HIS WINNING WAYS IN MX-1 WHILE MEDAGLIA TAKES THE OVERALL IN MX-2

DUSTY KLATT CONTINUES HIS WINNING WAYS IN MX-1 WHILE MEDAGLIA TAKES THE OVERALL IN MX-2

Inside the Team Yamaha Blackfoot Tent

On the East coast of Canada is Riverglade Motocross Park, New Brunswick - home round 7 of the Canadian National MX Series. Under perfect weather conditions, the “East Coast Fans” came out in record numbers to take in a great day of racing.

KLATTAgain, Team Yamaha Red Bull Blackfoot Racing “stayed the course” taking the overall in MX-1 with an absolute solid ride by Dusty Klatt while team-mate Tyler Medaglia captured the overall with his 2-1 finishes!

With team-mate Facciotti out due to an upper body injury it was Dusty Klatt who continued to step up and lead the team in the MX-1 series. After a dominant performance in St. Julie, Klatt continued to establish strong starts and sprint to the front early on his powerful YZ450F at Riverglade MX Park.

In the first moto Klatt immediately took control of the race and was unchallenged to the checker flags, winning by over 10 seconds and gathering valuable points needed on his championship hunt. Moto 2 was no different, as again he powered his Yamaha into the lead in the first few corners, never having to look back and doing what he needed to do to maintain the points lead.

Klatt“The day went really well today,” smiled Dusty Klatt. “ My bike was working so good today. These new 450 Yamaha’s are so strong it made my job a lot easier. Also tire choice was critical as the track kept changing and deteriorating over time. Thankfully I am on Michelin’s as they were awesome. I did what I needed to do today, however, I am not going to get too excited as there are 4 motos left and anything can happen. I am just taking it corner-by-corner and lap-by-lap right now. Just trying to have some fun out there! Thanks to Andrew my mechanic, Joe Skidd for his great suspension as well as all the other team members, our sponsors and of course all the fans for cheering me on!”

Last weekend was some-what disheartening for Tyler Medaglia as a DNF in the second moto saw his points lead dwindle to 14. With his work cut out for him, Tyler needed to “stay the course” and run consistent moto’s, which he did, achieving 2-1 and taking home the top spot on the podium.

MedagliaIn the first MX-2 moto, Tyler did not get the start he was looking for as he had contact with another rider requiring him to back down to stay upright. He found himself only in the top 10 after the first corner however this did not deter him, as by the halfway point he found himself in 4th behind race leader Teddy Maier, Benoit and Eric Nye. As Nye was applying pressure on Benoit for 2nd, he went down moving Tyler back into a podium position. Medaglia knew what he had to do and made a pass on Benoit with 3 laps to go to take second position behind Maier.

After making a few small changes on his YZ250F, Medaglia finally go the start he was looking for in the top 3. He quickly moved past Daniel Blair on the first lap for 2nd and again on the 3rd lap passed Benoit to take the lead. From that point on, Medaglia was never challenged as he crossed the finish line for the win, some 20 plus seconds ahead of rival Maier.

Tyler Medaglia

Tyler Medaglia

“The fans were awesome this weekend cheering me on,” beamed a pumped Tyler Medaglia. “I have been living here this year and have met a lot of great people who continue to help and support me, so it was awesome to take the win in front of all of them! We made a couple of changes on my bike between motos which worked out perfectly. My bike, my mechanic Troy, the team, and our sponsors are so good this year! I just want to stay consistent every weekend, ride smart and hopefully win a championship for the team!”

Jared and Parker Allison

BlackfootDirect/Yamaha support riders Jared and Parker Allison are continually improving in speed, conditioning and their results are showing it!

Although Jared found himself back in 25th position in the first moto he put his head down showing speed and tenacity to cross the finish line in 5th. In the second moto again he challenged the top riders of the field for a well deserved 4th which put him at 5th overall for the weekend, only 3 points away from a podium finish.

Dean Thompson with Jared and Parker AllisonHis twin brother Parker was also on the pace on the hard pack track with very respectable finishes of 7-5 for 6th overall for the day.

“I think this is one of our toughest years in racing as the team has had to deal with so many up’s and down’s so far in the series,” offered Team Manager Dean Thompson. “Our thoughts are with Colt as he heals up from his injuries and we look forward to his return to racing as soon as the doctors give him the go-ahead. Dusty has really stepped up his game in the last few rounds and we are really happy for him. He came into the weekend with a 22 point lead and has now stretched it out to 32 with 4 motos left for the year. Tyler worked so hard in the off-season with his conditioning it is great to see him reap the benefits with his win today, maintaining his lead in the championship of 14 points. Kyle Beaton will be back on the team next weekend and should be 100% healed. It will be good to have him back as we missed having him under the tent this year. What can we say about the Allison twins and their family other than a huge congratulation’s. They are a great family and we are very proud to be part of their program. Both boys are really breaking out this year and we look forward to working with them for many years to come!”
