AGV's Pastrana and Millsaps Bring Podium Spots Home

AGV's Pastrana and Millsaps Bring Podium Spots Home

COSTA MESA, Calif., Feb. 02, 2010 – The last weekend of January was a very successful one for the AGV team in the US.
On one side of the country, Honda Red Bull’s Davi Millsaps took his new AGV helmet to an excellent 3rd place finish at Round 4 of the 2010 AMA Supercross series, at the San Francisco Supercross. After a good start, Millsaps rode in second for a while before losing the front end in a corner, after remounting immediately he fought his way back to 3rd.

“Thank you to Davi for a great result and for taking us on the podium,” said AGV Dainese USA’s Roberto Sadowsky “it is a great reward for all those at AGV who have been involved in the “MX project” over the last 2 years, back in Italy with our R&D team and here in the US. He made us proud tonight”. Millsaps’ podium was a “comeback” celebration for AGV as it marked the brand’s first podium at an AMA Supercross since Ezra Lusk’s 1997 podium finishes, including his wins at Atlanta and Orlando.

On the other side of the country, Subaru Rally Team USA’s Travis Pastrana took victory home at the 2010 Rally USA opener, in the snows of Michigan, at the 2010 Sno*Drift Rally. Team #199 started the event with a small challenge as TP, who arrived at the event with his arm in a sling, drove the whole race under excruciating pain from his surgery earlier in the week due to a motocross injury. AGV’s Pastrana and co-driver Christian Edstrom pulled through and won seven of the second day's twelve stages, ending the race with a lead of one minute and thirty-seven seconds.

Part of the Dainese group, AGV helmets are the results of 63 years of hard work in finding the best solution in terms of safety and design. A tradition carried on by some of the most important riders of all times who helped AGV make motorcycling history. Among them Giacomo Agostini, Angel Nieto, Barry Sheene, Kenny Roberts, Gennady Moiseev, Randy Mamola, Johnny Cecotto, Ezra Lusk, as well as Formula 1 racing legends such as Niki Lauda and Emerson Fittipaldi.

Today the legend is carried on by the 9 times MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi, who is wearing an AGV helmet since the beginning of his thrilling career, 2008 250cc World Champion Marco Simoncelli and motocross freestyle legend Travis Pastrana.

AGV helmets are distributed by Parts Unlimited in the USA and by Steen Hansen in Canada.
